Elite Divisions And What It Takes To Compete
If you've ever wanted to show that you belong in the conversation with the best of the best, the Elite Divisions at Fast Eddy's BAM Jam are a great way to prove it.
For some players, the Elite divisions are intimidating. But for the players that are driven to compete against the top talent, you can find them in the Elite Division.
They may have been beaten in the past.
They may have won the tournament before.
But they all know that the only thing that matters is what you do this time. Everything else is old news.
Here is a list of the prizes that Elite teams receive (and the divisions it applies to):

Best Team Name Of All Time? You Decide!
This March 22-23 we will be hosting the 5th Annual Fast Eddy's Spring BAM Jam. Over the years the spring tourney has built a strong following, evolved in its format and provided fun for a variety of teams.
It has also provided a variety of team names that are creative and unique. Trendy, a play on words or just flat out descriptive of the team, the names are fair play as long as they are 20 letters or less (and are more or less family friendly).
Here is your chance to vote for your favorite team name that we've seen over the last four spring tournaments. The list started at over 500 and was narrowed down to 50. From there the BAM Jam staff selected their favorite 5. And now it is up to you to narrow it down to 1. Poll closes January 31.
Let us know what you think. And then try and come up with something better for your team this year. But don't delay...the spring tournament sells out every year and when the spaces are gone the registration will close.

Registration now open for Spring BAM Jam
Registration for the 5th Annual Spring BAM Jam is now open. The tournament will be held on March 22-23, 2014 in Boise, Idaho at the Borah Sports Complex. Click here to learn more about the spring tournament, bracketing, etc.

The tournament is hosted by Idaho Select Basketball. It is recommended that teams sign up early as the tournament has sold out the last four years.
If you are interested in getting involved with the tournament, but as a sponsor, volunteer or spectator you have options. For sponsorship information contact Clint Hordemann at clint@idahoselect.org. Press Release - Registration is open for summer 2013
Here is a recent press release about the opening of registration for the summer of 2013.
Idaho Select Basketball has announced that registration is open for the Fast Eddy's Summer BAM Jam. The 3 on 3 basketball tournament will be held on August 10-11 in downtown Boise. The tournament will once again center around the intersection of Bannock and 6th Streets next to Capitol Park and the Capitol Building and will span out over eight blocks. More information can be found at www.bamjamboise.com.
This will be the second year that the tournament has used this location. The response from players and fans last year was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the additional shade, a grass park, easy to find parking and the close proximity to the Old Boise shopping area.
Last year players from over 70 cities and 8 states participated in the tournament. The number of teams this year is expected to be well over 300. There are divisions for all ages and abilities.
Fast Eddy's has signed back on as the title sponsor. The convenience store has been a partner for all six years of BAM Jam and has been the title sponsor for the last five years.
About Idaho Select Basketball and BAM Jam
Idaho Select Basketball is a club basketball program for high school players in the northwest. The program began in the summer of 1998. BAM Jam was created in the summer of 2008 to help raise money for Idaho Select players in need as well as other local non-profit organizations. In its first year the tournament brought in 142 teams and has grown to nearly 300. BAM Jam has donated over $10,000 to local non-profits.

BAM Jam, a Boise Icon?
How do you define an icon? Is it an image that defines a moment? Or a picture that will last forever?
The Idaho Statesman is asking their readers what icons define Boise as the city turns 150. Their goal is to identify the top 150 Boise icons. Here is a link to the article.
The bold question from our end - has BAM Jam become an icon of Boise? This spring will mark the fourth year of the indoor 3 on 3 tournament while this summer will be the sixth outdoor tournament, the biggest 3 on 3 tournament in the state. Ten tournaments that bring in a combined 500 teams, 2,000 participants and over 10,000 spectators.
Traditionally speaking, icons are established over decades of time. But
what about an event that embraces other icons and welcomes anyone to be
a part of it? With the Capitol Building, Capitol Park and Old Boise as a
backdrop and room for everyone including men, women and children with
the best to the worst of abilities, that seems to put BAM Jam in the
mix, right?
In reality, we know BAM Jam is not at the top of most people's list. But is it top 150 worthy? You can let the Statesman know by sending an email to Anna Webb at awebb@idahostatesman.com or by mailing them your thoughts to The Idaho Statesman, 2100 N. Curtis Road, Boise ID 83706. Just include your name and contact info.
Whether you believe that BAM Jam is or is not a Boise icon, the tournament will be returning to the Borah Sports Complex on March 23-24, 2013. Registration opens soon. This is a great time to start thinking about who you want on your team!

Idaho's biggest tourney moves
Fast Eddy's BAM Jam grows into new location
Below is the press release that was sent out on May 31 regarding the tournament's new location~~~~~~~~~~
Boise, IDAHO - Idaho Select Basketball has opened registration and released the dates of this year's Fast Eddy's Summer BAM Jam. The 3 on 3 basketball tournament will be held on Saturday and Sunday, August 4-5 in downtown Boise. The tournament is for any player of any ability. More information is available at www.bamjamboise.com. Additionally, the organization has announced that the tournament will be held in a new part of downtown Boise.
This summer the tournament will be held in a completely new location. Previously, the center of Fast Eddy's Summer BAM Jam was located at 8th Street and Broad Street in the BoDo area. This summer, the center of the tournament will be at 6th Street and Bannock Street. The tournament will span 8 city blocks.
The move was required as a result of the large influx of teams over the last four years. The tournament has grown nearly 30% per year since 2008 and is anticipating hosting nearly 450 teams from around the Northwest this summer. To see a map of the new event, visit www.bamjamboise.com/location
"The Fast Eddy's Summer BAM Jam tournament has had rapid, sustained growth since 2008, and the new location will help organizers continue to expand the tournament," Mayor David Bieter said. "A livable city must have opportunities to get active, and Fast Eddy's BAM Jam is a prime example. It's basketball for all ages and abilities, it's family friendly and it's fun to see our streets transformed into basketball paradise for players and spectators."
The new location near Old Boise will provide access to Capitol Park, more convenient parking and more eating and shopping options for all those involved.
"Being in Old Boise is a slam dunk and we are thrilled to be partnering with Fast Eddy's BAM Jam this summer. We know that the players, spectators and volunteers will love the amenities that our neighborhood has to offer," said Clay Carley of Old Boise. "Go to www.oldboise.com to see all the dining, shopping, entertainment and services available from the local merchants."
While the location of the tournament has changed, the goal of Fast Eddy's Summer BAM Jam remains the same: operate a first class event that the Treasure Valley can be proud and give back to local non-profit organizations. In the past 4 years Fast Eddy's BAM Jam has donated over $10,000 to worthy local organizations.

Guide to getting your team registered
So, you want to play in BAM Jam. But you aren't quite sure how to get started.
How do I get a team together? How do I register? How do I know when I play?
1. Mark your calendar. The first thing to do is make sure that you have tournament dates down on your calendar. To play you have to be available!
2. Pick your teammates. More than likely you are going to be the team captain. This means that you get to pick who you get to play with. Think about the type of players you want to play with. Are you trying to win the whole thing? Are you just trying to have fun? Do you need an outside shooter or an inside threat? The players are all around you. At work. At school. At church. Maybe even in your neighborhood or a team you are on right now.
3. Pick a division. For adult teams, look at your teammates and your goals and decide if you want to play recreational (just having fun), competitive (a little more serious) or elite (the true test of your 3 on 3 skills).
4. Time to register. Since space is so limited the time to register is now. At the top of this page under the "PLAY" link is a "REGISTER" link. Pick a good teammate, fill in the team's info, fill in your player's info, make a payment and you're registered. You should get an email saying that your team has registered. Verify that the information is correct.
5. When do we play? As we get closer to the tournament the team captains will receive information on where and when to check in their team. We will also be posting all the brackets and game times.
That's it. Now it's a matter of perfecting your jump shot, working on the crossover and getting ready for Idaho's biggest indoor tournament!

Brackets are full
As of yesterday (Monday), all brackets have completely filled. Several brackets actually filled up last Saturday. As we mentioned, there is very limited space at Taco Bell Arena so we filled space on a first come first served basis based on bracket needs. Like last year, there are several teams that did not register in time and will be given a full refund for their teams.
Within the next day (by Wednesday night) all team captains will be receiving an email about the tournament. It will either be an email informing you that your team was not able to be placed and how you will receive your refund OR it will contain information on what bracket you are in, team check in and other important tournament details.
FYI, all brackets are expected to begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday. This does not necessarily mean that you will be playing at 8:00 AM, just that the first games will begin then. Brackets are expected to go until 8:00 PM for those teams that keep winning. Until the brackets are out (probably Wednesday night) we cannot give more detailed information.
For more details on brackets, player changes, team check-in and floor access click here.

A guide to getting started
Often, the hardest part about playing in BAM Jam is simply getting started. Here are a few tips to help you get ready for Idaho's biggest tournament this August.
- Put Friday and Saturday, August 5-6, 2011 down on your schedule. Obviously to play, you have to be available.
- Pick your teammates. As a captain, you get the privilege of picking the players you want to play with. Start thinking about the types of players you want around you. Do you want to win? Do you want to have fun? Do you need a ride to the tournament? Potential teammates are everywhere: at your school, work, church or even a hoops team you are on right now.
- Pick your division. The great thing about BAM Jam is there is a division for everyone. Whether you are the ultra competitive player or just trying to get some exercise without pulling your hammy, you can find the level of competition that is right for you. Check out our "Bracketing 101" guide by clicking here
- Get registered. You have your team and you know what division you want to play in. Now, make sure you get your team's spot secured so that you can worry about other things...like stretching out that hamstring!

New York to Boise - BAM Jam getting national exposure
We have confirmed that SLAM Magazine will be coming in from New York to cover this summer's Fast Eddy's BAM Jam. Ryne Hansen, SLAM's online editor will be making the trip out to Boise for the event.

More event details
Here's how things are shaping up for this year's tournament. All teams will get a 3 game guarantee and after that it depends on how long you keep winning. Every team member will also get a BAM Jam participant t-shirt and each team will be receiving a team packet with all kinds of cool free stuff and coupons for discounts.
Games for each bracket will start at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 6 and will finish around 9:00 PM. We will start up again with games on Saturday at 8:00 AM and the final games will wrap up around 6:00 PM.
The Idaho Trust Bank Center Court will feature elite games all tournament long. On Saturday there will also be the MyBullFrog 3-point Shootout, the Powerade Slam Dunk Championship and the Larry Miller 1/2 court truck giveaway. More details will be coming soon on these.
And we are proud to announce that Fast Eddy's will again be our title sponsor. If you recall, Fast Eddy's sponsored last spring's BAM Jam (check out this video from STADIA TV, Click Here).
If you having yet registered your team, you will want to get that done ASAP. Normal registration closes July 30. Team check in will be on Thursday, August 5 likely from 4-8pm at Sports Authority in Boise off of Milwaukee.
