I missed the registration deadline, now what?

If you wanted to get a team into this year's BAM Jam but missed the normal registration deadline, you may be in luck.  Some of our smaller brackets may have room for another team or two. Our bracketing team starts this weekend building the tournament brackets. In the meantime, here's what you can do to get in.

First, get signed up! The bracket team will finish up by Tuesday so you have to be in by then. Go to www.bamjamboise.com, click on play and complete the team registration process. Please note, with late registration comes the standard late registration fee of $25.

Second, look for your verification email immediately after you have signed up. If you don't get it within 10 minutes check your junk or spam folder. If you check your spam and junk folders and don't see it in there, send an email to service@idahoselect.org with your team name and captain and we will check on it for you.

Third, be patient. We will do our best to get you into your bracket of choice if there is room. But this could take a couple days so give us a chance to get it in.

Fourth, check your email again. If we are able to get you in to the tournament you will get an email with your TEAM NUMBER and check in information. If we couldn't get you in we will send you an email letting you know and that we are refunding your entry fee.

Clinic of Champions

If you are looking for an edge when you compete in 3 on 3 tournaments, here is your chance to learn from the guys that have proven they are the best in the business.

The Clinic of Champions features the teachings of Hoopfest and BAM Jam finalists and champions. You will be given the secrets and strategies that they used to give them an edge and gain success. Learn when to come off screens, utilize isolation, overcome mismatches and much more. We will also have court monitors there as well so you can get a feel for how the BAM Jam tournament is run.

Players get to learn from:
Matt Bauscher - Boise State, Pro in Holland, Hoopfest and BAM Jam finalist
Ryan McCarthy - NNU, women's coach at NNU, Hoopfest and BAM Jam Champion
Chris Allen - LCSC, Hoopfest and BAM Jam Champion
Justin McCarthy - C of I, Pro in New Zealand, Hoopfest finalist
Jon DeWolfe - U of W, Hoopfest finalist
Clint Hordemann - BSU, Hoopfest finalist

The clinic is Wednesday, August 4 at the outdoor courts at Timberline High School from 6:00-8:00 PM. The cost is $20 per player or bring your whole BAM Jam team of 4 for only $70. Players can register at the door and registration will start at 5:30 PM. We only have room for 100 players so we recommend being there right at 5:30 PM.

Please make sure that you bring a parent with you to sign a waiver. Players should also bring their own basketball that they can use outdoors.

Team Check In Information

This year's team check in will take place at The Sports Authority parking lot, located at 1301 N. Milwaukee in Boise. It will be on Thursday, August 5 from 4-8pm. More details will come as we get closer to the event. This is mandatory for all teams to attend, though you can send just one team representative if you would like. At check in you will get updated brackets, your team's t-shirts plus a coupon package worth over $100. You can also make last minute player changes as well (see the details on the official Player Change form here for restrictions). We recommend bringing the entire team and your family.

This year, we are turning the team check in into more of a festival for participants, fans and family. There will be fun things for the whole family, including a chance to win a new 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 from Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge. Also at the check in there will be a preliminary round of the Mybullfrog 3-Point Challenge.

Plus, there going to be music and some great food.

And in this issue...

The most current issue of SLAM is now out and, as we eluded to earlier, BAM Jam is featured inside. Flip to page 82 in their Tech Corner with Josh Childress. It features the Greek League Finals, police, tear gas and how a home team crowd actually cost their team a title.

If you are interested in getting SLAM at over half off their best deals, be sure to stop by the BAM Jam merchandise booth at the tournament. Matt and his STADIA team will be sure to take care of you!

More event details

Here's how things are shaping up for this year's tournament. All teams will get a 3 game guarantee and after that it depends on how long you keep winning. Every team member will also get a BAM Jam participant t-shirt and each team will be receiving a team packet with all kinds of cool free stuff and coupons for discounts.

Games for each bracket will start at 5:00 PM on Friday, August 6 and will finish around 9:00 PM. We will start up again with games on Saturday at 8:00 AM and the final games will wrap up around 6:00 PM.

The Idaho Trust Bank Center Court will feature elite games all tournament long. On Saturday there will also be the MyBullFrog 3-point Shootout, the Powerade Slam Dunk Championship and the Larry Miller 1/2 court truck giveaway. More details will be coming soon on these.

And we are proud to announce that Fast Eddy's will again be our title sponsor. If you recall, Fast Eddy's sponsored last spring's BAM Jam (check out this video from STADIA TV, Click Here).

If you having yet registered your team, you will want to get that done ASAP. Normal registration closes July 30.  Team check in will be on Thursday, August 5 likely from 4-8pm at Sports Authority in Boise off of Milwaukee.

Team Captains - please read

Just a reminder, once you have registered your team the team captain (also listed as Player 1) should be getting a verification email with all of your team's information. It is critical that you read this information carefully and make any changes necessary.

The most critical items are: team gender, team age and team competition level. These items determine which bracket you are in and once the tournament starts they cannot be changed.

If you have not yet received this email check your spam or junk folder, as they will sometimes end up in there. After you have checked these folders, if they are not there then send an email to service@idahoselect.org with your name and your team's name. We will go in and try to find it from there!
