We've built the tournament to be affordable and convenient, whether you've lived in Boise your entire life or are just visiting downtown Boise for the first time.

Located just a few minutes walk from the tournament, The Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown Boise is the best available hotel if you are traveling to downtown Boise from out of the area or just want a great place to stay during the event.

They offer an airport shuttle to and from the hotel and their complimentary breakfast is loaded with fruit, eggs, a variety of breakfast meats, cereal and more. It is conveniently located next to all the most popular downtown Boise restaurants and stores.

Thanks to the Idaho Stampede (a member of the NBA D-league and the Utah Jazz affiliate), teams are all invited to the Idaho Stampede Tip Off Party, located at their home, CenturyLink Arena. At the party, the Stampede will give everyone a chance to shoot on their baskets and even win a suite to one of their games, worth $450 and has room for you and 15 of your friends!

There will also be a chance to take pictures with the Idaho Stampede Dance Team members, win some cool prizes and get your official Fast Eddy's BAM Jam t-shirt and bracket.

Tournament courts are in the heart of downtown Boise

In 2012, we moved Fast Eddy's BAM Jam's location to the heart of downtown Boise next to Capitol Park. And we haven't looked back since.

Tournament courts are all located right
in downtown Boise

The tournament location takes advantage of streets that are covered by trees and in the shade and Capitol Park, which is the ideal place to relax before and after your games. The park also features food vendors and some fun booths for your enjoyment.

Want to venture outside the tournament area? Downtown Boise has you covered. The tournament is located next to Old Boise, which features great shopping and dining. You can grab a sandwich at Jimmy Johns, a meal at The Reef or the Front Door or stop in to Pita Pit for a quick and healthy pita.

The tournament is also next to a farmer's market, showcasing some of the best local produce and products the area has to offer.

Once you are at the tournament, you really don't need to leave! Here's a Google map of the location.

Northwestern Mutual Center Court

If you are looking for all the top men's and women's Elite Division games, simply head for the Northwestern Mutual Center Court, grab a seat in the bleachers and enjoy. The court will run non-stop Saturday and Sunday with the best teams and athletes including several teams that have won the title both at BAM Jam in downtown Boise and in other 3 on 3 basketball tournaments around the northwest.

Slam Dunks and Long Bombs

Everyone loves a monster slam or timely 3-pointer. But in downtown Boise?

Yep!

The Slam Dunk and 3-Point Challenge
are held on the steps of the Idaho
Capitol Building in downtown Boise

From 4:00-5:00 PM on Saturday, located on the steps of the Capitol Building, you can come watch the Idaho Trust Bank 3-Point Challenge and the POWERADE Slam Dunk Championships.

If you want to get involved, here's all you have to do.

To qualify for the Idaho Trust Bank 3-Point Challenge, just go to the qualifying court located next to the Northwestern Mutual Center Court at the intersection of Bannock and 6th Streets. Get in to the top 8 and you will be qualified for the finals Saturday afternoon.

If you want to participate in the POWERADE Slam Dunk Championships, be sure to sign up at the Regence Information Booth, located in Capitol Park.

Fatty's After Party takes over downtown Boise Saturday night

Fatty's will once again host the official after party on Saturday night. Fatty's is located upstairs at 800 W. Idaho Street above the famous 8th Street in downtown Boise. They always take care of BAM Jam players and fans with drink specials and no cover. Plus, DJ Zuz will be running the show. Click here to learn more.

2012 Summer Champs

History repeated itself...again.

For the third straight summer, STADIA Legends emerged as the best of the best in the Men's Elite Division, defeating TalentsToSouthBeach 20-14. And even though the tournament was located next to Capitol Park, taking the championship was no easy walk though.

Both teams won their respective pools and met in the winner's bracket semi-finals, with STADIA winning and going to the championship game. Talents went into the loser's bracket and won their next game to advance to the championship game, where they would have to beat STADIA twice to win the title.

They got the first one.

But in a winner take all game for the summer title, STADIA came back to win a third straight title, and their fourth in five years.

Slam Dunk and 3-Point Contests to be held at the State Capitol

When it comes to freedom of speech, there may not be a better way to express yourself than a spectacular dunk or reigning consecutive 3-pointers. Sometimes, actions speak louder than words.

This summer, Fast Eddy's BAM Jam is excited to announce that the POWERADE Slam Dunk Championship and the ACHD Commuteride 3-Point Challenge will be held on the steps of Idaho's State Capitol Building!

As far as we can tell, this is the first time that a dunk competition or a 3-point contest have been held on the steps of Capitol Building. The closest may have been in 2001 when the NBA All-Star Weekend was held in Washington DC.

Anyone can participate in the contests. The finals will likely be held on Saturday afternoon.

Qualifying for the ACHD Commuteride 3-Point Challenge will take place through out the day on Saturday. The top qualifiers will be able to participate in the finals that afternoon.

If you are interested in participating in the POWERADE Slam Dunk Championship, you can sign up at the event, likely at the STADIA Clothing booth. Be sure to check in there for details and preliminary information.

Four tips from the defending champion

This spring, the Fast Eddy's BAM Jam will again feature the Jackson & Jackson Insurance 3-point Challenge. Anyone can enter to win and it's always a lot of fun.

But we wanted to give our loyal readers an edge, something that might help them when they are out there shooting for the title.

Defending 3-point champion Craig Spjute shared a few tips on how he was able to win the challenge at last summer's BAM Jam as well as the state's 3-point competition as a senior at Borah High School.

Tip #1 Believe - "You have to think you are the best to be the best. Many may see this as cocky but I see it as confidence."

Tip #2 Expect Success - "It's BAM Jam so yes, it's a big deal...but not a big enough deal to freak out. Just go out there and shoot...but expect to win."

Tip #3 Don't Rush! - "You will make more shots if you relax and take an extra half second to gather yourself, as opposed to shooting as many as possible with bad form."

Tip #4 Love the crowd - "Thrive off them when they cheer! It's exciting!!"

There you have it. Everything you need to know about winning the competition. But don't start engraving your name on that trophy just yet. We suspect Craig may be back to defend his title!
